Attijariwafa bank Foundation celebrates the 10th graduating class of the International master’s « Banking and Financial Markets »

Casablanca, April 25, 2019 – The Attijariwafa bank Foundation is organizing, on Thursday, April 25, the diploma award ceremony for 10th graduating class of the international master’s «Banking & Financial Markets».

During this ceremony, 38 laureates of the 10th class of the Master’s will receive their double Moroccan and Spanish diploma, delivered respectively by the Hassan II University of Casablanca through its faculty of legal, economic and social sciences of Ain Chock (FSJES) and the University of Cantabria, in the presence of their relatives, students and former laureates as well as Moroccan and Spanish figures from the academic and finance world.

Resulting from a successful public-private partnership, the International Master’s «Banking and Financial Markets» was developed by two leading banks on both sides of the Mediterranean, the Attijariwafa bank group and Grupo Santander, with two major Moroccan and Spanish universities, Hassan II University - FSJES Ain Chock of Casablanca and the University of Cantabria in Santander.

More generally, the Master’s includes a community of Spanish, Mexican, Chilean and Brazilian students, which gives it its international dimension. It was initially launched in Spain in 1996 (23rd graduating class) then in Mexico (19th graduating class) and more recently in 2015, in Brazil then in Chile, on the initiative of Banco Santander in collaboration with the University of Cantabria. In Morocco, the Master’s is now in its 12th edition with nearly 440 students enrolled since its launch and 333 laureates from the 10 graduating classes, including 30% sub-Saharan students. The professional integration rate of its laureates exceeds 90%.

The Master’s program is taught by professionals mainly from the two partner banks (Attijariwafa bank and Banco Santander) as well as Moroccan and Spanish university professors from the two partner universities. It aims to inculcate students with advanced technical knowledge in the financial field to best meet the needs of the market, combining theory and practice.

In addition, Attijariwafa bank Foundation has, since 2007, continued to develop, in collaboration with Banco Santander, its partnership, with universities, as part of its contribution to the modernization and development of the graduate cycle, through two other innovative projects:

- «jamiati.ma», the university website: the first Moroccan university platform that integrates information from all Moroccan public and private universities, aiming to provide undergraduate and graduate students with key elements adapted to their needs, with a view to decision-making and guidance in choosing their postgraduate studies. A true community-university guide, the new version, enriched by new sections, was deployed at the end of 2017 with the integration of social networks, taking into account the challenge of digital transformation, in line with the strategic orientations of the Group and the targeted students.

- Jamiati card: the first university electronic card for students and the faculty and administrative staff of public and private universities. It makes it possible to integrate several university services according to the needs of the establishment. Jamiati card can also serve as a credit card costing 0 MAD throughout the university curriculum, at the request of the holder, thus promoting the financial education of young people.

With the International Master’s «Banking and Financial Markets», the Attijariwafa bank group through its Foundation, reiterates its support for the continuous development and modernization of postgraduate studies in Morocco and the promotion of sectors of excellence.
