Attijari Global Research launches the AGR Africa Bond Index in association with Standard & Poor's (S&P)

Casablanca, March 28th, 2019 - As part of its mission to represent a well-known research center based in Africa and dedicated to African markets, Attijari Global Research, a subsidiary of the Attijariwafa bank group, is launching a new index called the AGR Africa Bond Index "Code Bloomberg AGRAFBDT".

As the intellectual owner of the index, AGR has partnered with S&P, a world leader in index calculation and design.

AGR Africa Bond Index represents a Total Return Index denominated in USD. Its core universe is sovereign credit risk in Africa. To better reflect the economic reality on a continental scale, a series of eligibility criteria have been adopted for deposits, particularly in terms of size, liquidity and rating.

The interest of this index is to monitor sovereign debt issues issued by African countries and denominated in foreign currencies. It thus makes it possible to:

• analyse the debt performance in general in the Continent;

• follow an advantageous financing vehicle growing in Africa;

• present an investment benchmark that could be duplicated while respecting standards of investment norms, size, diversification, and liquidity.
